Each year the Wisconsin African American Tobacco Prevention Network (WAATPN) joins the Center for Black Health and Equity in providing the faith-based community of Wisconsin with the tools to discuss the importance of living a tobacco-free life and the role of menthol in quitting tobacco.

Lorraine LathenLorraine is the President/Founder. She is an experienced health education and advocacy leader whose career has focused on public health and social marketing. She has more than 20 years of experience designing, implementing and evaluating health promotion and disease prevention programs in Africa and Wisconsin.

Edgard MendezEdgar has served as the coordinator for the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Poverty Network since 2014, and coordinated media for the Wisconsin African American Tobacco Prevention Network. He currently manages Jump at the Sun's communication and media needs and provides ongoing support to project management and implementation.

Juanita CobbJuanita supports our tobacco prevention and control activities. She also helps to advance our health equity and social justice efforts. She is a registered nurse and has worked in the hospital as a telemetry and ICU nurse.

Jamila CarneyJamila joined the team to help lead No Menthol Sunday efforts in Wisconsin and support other faith-based efforts. Carney holds a bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Phoenix.

Michael has been a key partner of Jump at the Sun Consultants' branding and message development for numerous public health initiatives. His firm has produced marketing materials for campaigns in tobacco prevention, maternal and child health, voter education, and smoke-free public housing.
